THE FRONT YARD PROJECT
"On March 22nd 2020 I contacted a few friends and asked if they would like me to photograph their families hanging in their front yard. The concept was clear – I would pull up, honk the horn and they would come out the to their front yard. I would snap a quick photo from the safety of my car (well beyond the government’s social distancing requirements) and head off. It was a way to keep my mind busy and the kids out of the house. This is how ‘The Front Yard Project’ was created.
Through word of mouth the project grew fast. I suddenly had pages and pages of families wanting to be documented and a Facebook group with over 1000 members tuning in at 7pm every night to see who was going to be featured that day. Clocking over 4000km on my car’s trip-meter, documenting over 500 families"
